Philippa White

Form Tutor

Before going to university, I spent a year travelling Asia and Australia; diving on the Great Barrier Reef and unwinding. In 2006, I graduated with a first class honours degree in Education and Music and, shortly after, I took on a post teaching music to GCSE level. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of the secondary curriculum, but my passion for early years prevailed and in 2007 I took on the role of class teacher at St Clement’s Primary School. I remained at St Clement’s for 11 years, during which time I gained leadership for writing and introduced a number of initiatives to raise the standard of writing across the school.

My life changed direction slightly when I found myself with a two-year-old son and newborn twins. I decided to concentrate on the role of mother and left St Clement’s to look after my young family. Four years later I took the role of class teacher at St George’s and I haven’t looked back since!
