I previously worked as Head of Operational Support at Jersey Post Group and have spent most of my career in operational, retail & project management roles in Jersey and the UK.

The Bursar’s role at St George’s has provided an ideal opportunity to utilise all the experience and transferable skills that I have managed to accrue over the years. The job is extremely varied, always interesting and provides a fantastic environment to work in.

It's great to be part of such a committed and talented team, and to have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the children at the school.

I'm married to Helen (for more years than she probably cares to remember), we have 2 children, Alex who is a Broadcast Journalist & Operations Manager in Jersey and Emily, a qualified Occupational Therapist who is currently studying to become a Primary School teacher in Cambridge.

I moved to the island in 2006 having worked as a consultant in the UK and have considerable finance and HR experience. I also have experience of working in a school and was previously Business Manager at Jersey College Prep. Most recently, I worked for a local trust company. I joined St. George's in May 2020, an interesting time to start in the middle of lockdown! It gave me the opportunity to hit the ground running and I am delighted to be part of the St. George's family.

I studied English Literature at Sussex university and went on to have a career in magazine publishing and events in the motoring industry for 10 years. After this, I became an Account Manager in an events agency heading up the Renault account organising test drive days at places of interest around the country. I then moved to work client-side at a National Trust property organising weddings, events and filming, driving income to help the restoration of the historic landmark.

When I started a family, I redressed the balance of working evenings, weekends and holidays and took a job as the Reception manager in a local Prep School where I remained for 7 years until my husband got the offer to relocate the family to Jersey. I was lucky enough to find myself a similar role at St George’s just a year after moving to the island where we plan to remain.

After initially training as a Mental Health Nurse, I went on to read Social Policy and Psychology at Newcastle University, becoming involved in research work while there. I subsequently qualified as a Social Worker, and gained a Post Graduate qualification in  Practice Education.  I spent around 25 years in safeguarding work with children and families, becoming a Head of Service at the NSPCC and then in Jersey before taking early retirement.

I  spent a couple of years doing political research before joining St George’s in 2018. I am also an Authorised Celebrant and provide bespoke wedding ceremonies, celebrations of life and various other milestone celebrations.

Having left my home town of Glasgow at 18, I moved to Jersey and worked as a flight attendant for Flybe for a number or years before spending time living in Dubai and working for Emirates Airlines. After that, I moved back to Jersey for a short time before going traveling and spending two months in Indonesia and a year in Australia. I moved back to Jersey, met my future husband Greg, went travelling together for three months in Asia and Australia, spent a year in New Zealand and finally returned to this lovely island to settle down in 2006.

After a short career-break to have our two wonderful children, I returned to work as a Human Resources Assistant at a local luxury hotel and joined the fantastic team here at St George’s in 2016 as Admissions and Finance Coordinator. I am a qualified IAB Level 3 Bookkeeper. I really enjoy all aspects of my role, but particularly enjoy liaising with families looking to join our lovely school, assisting and supporting them in order to make joining or transitioning to the school as smooth and straightforward as possible.

In my spare time I enjoy being with my family and I also help with bookkeeping for my husband’s Plumbing business.

    Marketing and Development Officer

I've worked in the marketing industry for more than a decade and have built up significant experience in event and campaign management at both local and international level. I've been fortunate to have delivered projects for some of the world’s biggest brands at locations across the globe including Asia, America, Europe, the UK and Ireland, and my career has enabled me to live in New York, Geneva, Paris and London.

I've worked in sectors as diverse as technology, charity, finance, fashion, cosmetics and government and been responsible for allocating and reporting on multimillion pound budgets. Based in Jersey for the last ten years, I've delivered a number of high-profile projects for some of the island’s major financial corporations, charities and the Government of Jersey.

Having come to Jersey for 'a couple of years' in 2010, we have settled happily here and I now have two lovely children with my Jersey-born husband. I joined St. George's Preparatory School in September 2018 to oversee marketing and development. No two days are the same here, and it's wonderful to be involved with such a special school.

I joined St. George’s in October 2017 to lead the kitchen team. I have more than twenty five years’ experience in the catering industry and a passion for providing exceptional food.  Along with the team, I devise menus for our pupils designed to provide healthy, balanced, delicious nutrition that is so critical to the growing mind and body, providing the energy they need to learn well during each school day.

Previously Head Chef at Tamba Park, Hotel Cristina, Hotel de France and many other highly respected establishments across the Island, I am delighted now to head-up the kitchen here at St. George's.

In my spare time, I entertain my two daughters, enjoy playing wheelchair basketball in support of the Jersey Disabled Sport Association and go for long walks- making sure to do my bit to clean plastics from our shoreline on the way.

I came to Jersey from my home town in Madeira in 1994, originally to farm. Prior to joining St. George's, I was a supervisor and oversaw growing at Lucas Bros. I managed the farm, grew plants from seed and further developed my knowledge of all things horticultural. I'm married to Ivone. who is Head of Housekeeping at the School, and we both joined the staff here in 2008, becoming full time in 2010.

In 2011, I became Groundsman and Caretaker, a role which I enjoy so much. It's a privilege to keep the beautiful grounds of St. George's in good shape. We have so many rare and beautiful plants and trees.

Ivone and I have a beautiful daughter, Ana, who is currently at university in the UK.
