Not only were their results fantastic in reaching the final without conceding a goal and scoring 14 goals, but their attitude and determination was truly impressive.

The defence played extremely well defending as a unit, only one of our opponents managed to score against us. The team grew in confidence in each game and the two goals that we did concede were unstoppable. The defenders held their positions perfectly and they were ferocious in the tackle. Their passing also improved as they progressed through the tournament. In front of them the midfielders, formed a formidable force. They didn’t stop running, they were determined in the tackle, light footed on the ball and all showed their ability to get their heads up and make the correct decision to pass or shoot. With our strikers both on form, the team also knew that they always had someone to pass to and that the ball was very likely to end up in the back of the net.

The girls gave everything for each other and even in defeat in the dying seconds of the final, when winning 1 -0 and 60 seconds from winning the tournament, the girls were able to show respect to their opponents by congratulating them and recognizing their own achievements by praising each other for the things they had achieved during the afternoon.
