Assistant Bursar
St. George’s Preparatory School is an independent fee paying preparatory school for boys and girls set in 35 acres of woodland at La Hague Manor, St. Peter.
The School has recently completed the purchase of the Manor and its grounds and is drawing up a Vision Plan to enhance and strengthen its position at the forefront of primary education in the Island. To support this work, the School wishes to appoint an Assistant Bursar who will work with the Bursar to provide an efficient and comprehensive infrastructure and support service on non-educational matters, so that the School is able to function effectively and safely.
The ASSISTANT BURSAR’s main duties are:
- Assist the Bursar in implementing agreed strategic plans, taking responsibility for specific Projects as allocated.
- Ensure the maintenance of financial records and the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
- Participate in the effective management of relevant support staff regarding the School’s day to day operations
affecting the administation, maintenance and care-taking, catering, and housekeeping functions.
- Participate in the maintenance of the School’s human resources and staff development function.
- Assist in the implementation, maintenance and review of appropriate Health and Safety measures.
Applicants will have a background in support services, accounting and financial management experience and a flexible approach to meeting the needs of a broad-ranging role, being willing to deputise for the Bursar, be ’hands-on’ when required and work as part of a small but close-knit team.
