Car Boot Sucess!
Wow!! What a fantastic start to this year’s GA events! The Car Boot sale just gets better and better – I think word is out that St George’s is definitely the place to be on a sunny September Saturday morning. We sold 54 pitches this year, and the Bacon Buttys/Hot Dogs, Tea & Cake stalls all sold out by midday. Car Booters turned up in droves looking for bargains, and generally a wonderful atmosphere pervaded the lawns - a reminder of how lucky we are to have such a fantastic setting in which to hold our events. On the figures side, a total of £750 profit was made.
Of course, all this could not have happened without you and many thanks from the GA Committee to those of you who took pitches, made cakes and turned out to support our first fund-raising event of the year.
Special thanks also go to Jo Moore, Louise Gooch and Sarah Carnegie - thank you for keeping the tea flowing, and to Tracy Beal, Natalie Duffy and Abbie Hosegood who helped keep the BBQ fired up all morning. Thank you also to Nathan Gallichan, who bravely tried to keep the early birds away until the official opening time, but who had to admit defeat when the queues started to go back to St Peter’s Village!
Once again, many thanks and make a note for the same time next year!
