GA AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Georgian Association was held on Tuesday 18 September 2007.

The meeting was very well attended, and it was very pleasing to see so many new faces in the hall.  After refreshments the meeting began.  It fell to Sylvia Thompson, as the retiring Chairperson, to outline the fantastic achievements of the 2006/07 GA committee, both on the fundraising front, and also on the social side.  Sylvia reported a particularly successful Summer Ball and a superb Summer Fete and thanked the many parents and friends without whose help these achievements would not have been possible.  The thousands of pounds raised during the year means that in the coming year the GA will again be in a position to fulfil its objective – which is to provide the children with "extras" to enhance each child’s St George’s experience.

The meeting also saw the stepping down of several Committee Members, which gives others the opportunity to join.  Sylvia Thompson stepped down as Chairperson and has been succeeded by Mary Bassett, a GA committee member with many years’ valuable experience.  Deborah Cawley stepped down as Treasurer and the new Treasurer is Lynelle Jordan.  Loraine Stewart Scott continues as Secretary.
