St.Georges

Georgian Association

The Vital Partnership

The Georgian Association is more than a Parent Teachers Association. Membership is open to everyone with an interest in promoting and celebrating St George’s and the work we do.  This includes past pupils, their parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, teachers past and present as well as current parents.

The GA’s main roles are to provide opportunities for the families of current pupils to meet and socialise and to raise funds for those extras which make all the difference to a child’s experience at school.

Events organised each year include our famous Guy Fawkes Bonfire Night, which normally attracts over 500 family and friends, the children’s Christmas Parties with special guest Mr S Claus, Beach Day for the whole school, the annual Summer Fete, and the highlight of many peoples’ social calendar, the GA Ball.

These and other smaller but, none the less, important events like cake making mean the GA makes a substantial donation to the School each year for use in a number of ways each aimed at improving facilities.  In past years these "extras" have included buying new computers for the IT room,  books and instruments for the School’s Lending Libraries and even the School minibus.

This year’s AGM has recently been held and a new committee with a new Chairperson has been elected.  The full calandar of events means that the Committee always welcomes volunteers who are willing to "help on the day."  If you would like to help out please contact the School and we will pass on your offer.
