Prison Me, No Way 2010
Prison Me, No Way
We had a great day at Prison Me, No Way! It was really interesting finding out about prison life and it has shown us how much we don’t want to go to prison. We first watched a DVD called Ryan’s choice about an actual prisoner and his life in prison.
The RNLI then talked to us about Beach Safety. They showed us what the signs of a rip current were and told us what would happen and what we should do if we ever get stuck in the middle of one. After this we had a talk about road safety and how to cross the road safely.
A fire fighter spoke to us about the dangers of fires; what we should do if there’s ever a fire in your house and what to look out for. This was followed by a talk about drugs and how bad some of them can be for you. We were told of the different effects of drugs and how many ways the drugs are able to get into your body. We must remember that not all drugs are bad.
Then a paramedic showed us how to put someone in the recovery position if they have collapsed. We also went inside an ambulance and measured one of the children’s blood-pressure which was very exciting!

A prison officer described what they have to do to prisoners when they first arrive at prison. They have to change their clothes for prison uniforms. We even had the chance to go into a prison cell; it was very stuffy and smelly!
At the end of the day we had a brilliant time with a magician who was hilarious.
