St. Peter's Parish Royal Oak Planting April 2010
Form VI lend a helping hand
Today the pupils of Form VI were invited to help with the planting of two Royal Windsor Oak trees. The connetable of St Peter, John Martin Refault, described the significance of the trees to the children before lending a hand with their planting; even Mr Moore and Miss Maletroit put hand to spade! These Oak trees will hopefully stand at the site of the cannon at Beaumont for many decades if not centuries to come. The trees come from the Queen’s own garden in Windsor, hence their title of ’Royal Windsor Oaks’ and with her permission have been planted in our little parish of St Peter in Jersey.
