You may be wondering if Mrs Wilkinson and her team in the kitchen are planning some really different menus for us at St George’s – NO!  This menu, though, would be very popular with the wild birds in your garden and in our school grounds during the cold weather.  Mr Mike Stentiford, who is very knowledgeable about birds, joined us for our assembly today.  He explained how important it is to feed the birds regularly as they come to depend on the seeds and fruit which we put out for them.  He suggested several different seeds and seed mixes which we could place in feeders or on a bird table.

There were three things NOT to offer on the menu; salted peanuts, spicy food and baked beans!
Our Nursery Class are hoping to see some activity soon in the nesting box in the walled garden.  We are hoping that perhaps some blue tits may nest in the box and lay eggs.

Meantime .......anyone for a meal worm starter?
