Infant Nativity 2009
INFANT NATIVITY
On Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th of December, Reception and Forms I and II warmed the hearts of all that came to see their performance of ’Rock the Baby’, our Infant Christmas Nativity play.
The main roles in the nativity story were performed by Form II children, who spoke with clarity and confidence. Eleanor O’Sullivan, who played Mary and Loren Le Quesne who played Angel Gabrielle both sung beautiful solo parts, delivered with an ease and conviction that amazed all who watched. Younger classes each performed a dance that both complimented and enlivened the story.
Reception M delighted everyone as they ’rocked around the Christmas tree’ dressed as Teddy boys and girls, whilst Reception S sparkled and jangled as Christmas presents to the ’Jinglebell rock’. Some Form II girls illuminated the stage as the flames from a fire keeping the shepherds warm, whilst the rest of the Form II boys and girls captured the audience as Innkeepers and their wives, dancing with gusto to a Scottish bagpipe song. Form IH’s halos shone as the ’little angels’ delivering the message of Jesus’ birth and Form IC created a real party atmosphere as the mice that celebrated the birth of baby Jesus in the manger and Children sang their hearts out to the upbeat songs that accompanied the play and the colourful costumes sparkled. However, the most contagious aspect of all was the smiles that radiated from the children on stage and the clear enjoyment that they gained from performing their Nativity play.
Congratulations to all of the Infant children for their spectacular performances of ’Rock the Baby’ and a great thanks to all the staff who contributed to its production, particularly to Mrs Haden who directed the play and to Mrs Smith who directed the music.
