’A’ Team

A full strength St George’s side played superbly and finished comfortable winners against St Michael’s.  The game was closely fought in the early stages before Jordan Ramsay scored the first after closing down the goal keeper well.  Man of the Match Josh Daniels was instrumental in midfield scoring four goals, including two wonderfully struck long range efforts.  The sixth goal came from a lovely turn and shot on the edge of the penalty area by Sandy Prosser.

’B’ Team
Result: 0 - 2

Keen to follow the example set by the ’A’ team, the juniors started off full of excitement.  Unfortunately St Michael’s had other ideas and started very well.  Two early crosses caught out the St George’s defence and resulted in two goals.  Not put off, the boys continued to battle hard all over the pitch and were very unlucky not to be rewarded with a goal.  Thor Tiefenthal and Max Bouten played particularly well in defence and midfield, tackling hard throughout the game.
