Senior Swimming Gala 2009

On Friday 15^th May, pupils in Forms IV – VI headed off to Langford for the annual senior swimming gala.  Watched by an enthusiastic and very vocal audience of mums and dads, all of the senior pupils competed in a series of individual races and house relays.  The gala was organised by Mrs Morgan-Pasquali who, along with her team of helpers, must be congratulated for the very efficient programme of events.

There were many fine performances and a number of school records were set throughout the morning.  Perhaps the most exciting races were the last – the house relays and the novelty relays.  At this stage of the competition there were very few points separating the four houses.

The final two races raised the noise level by the decibel or two.  With all the children ploughing up the 25m pool in the grand finale, parents could barely contain themselves in their support and cheering.

Congratulations to all swimmers and to St Patrick for winning the competition.
