Floral Success At Spring Eisteddfod

Where is the ideal place to nurture and encourage a young plant or seedling?  A Nursery, of course!

Well, that’s exactly what happens here at St George’s; our Nursery children are nurtured and encouraged as they share new experiences and master new skills.  This week they worked with flowers and other plant material to produce a prize-winning entry at the Eisteddfod Spring Festival.

The class title was ’The Sun has got It’s Hat On’ and the challenge for our budding florists was to interpret this song, not with paint or crayons, but using flowers.  Accompanied by the happy sound of nursery voices singing song of the same name, the children created a happy sun with yellow chrysanthemums and a hat decorated with leaves, a flower and a feather. An abundance of spring flowers with sand and shells completed the happy scene.

Our wonderful Nursery children were awarded best in class with a gold certificate and the Flower Club Trophy!
