Our School

"Great school - fantastic teachers - tremendous atmosphere.."

Set in 35 acres of stunning woodland, La Hague Manor provides a wonderfully rich environment in which children are inspired to learn and encouraged to play.

From the idyllic walled garden to the outdoor teaching ’amphitheatre’, our children enjoy exploring the world around them from a very early age.  Mini-beast safaris, Easter egg hunts and cross-countries all play a part in the busy school year.

We are very fortunate to live and work in such a magnificent setting.  Naturally curious young minds are challenged and imaginations are fired by exotic pathways and rolling lawns.  Our children grow to appreciate and value nature; they enjoy the resident woodpeckers and the inquisitive red squirrels and understand that they have an important part to play in looking after them.

Academic excellence...

Although St George’s has a mixed ability intake, we enjoy tremendous success academically with the majority of pupils gaining entry to their first choice senior schools, either in Jersey or the UK.  They are repeatedly complimented on their confidence, good organisational skills and sound working practices.

How do we achieve this?  By employing well trained, highly-motivated teachers and teaching assistants, who nurture and support every child in small, friendly classes.  Uniquely in Jersey, each child is taught by subject specialist staff from Nursery onwards.

"Our children look forward to going to school..."

The care, attention and affection that each child receives in our extended family make a difference.  We notice when something is wrong and go all out to put it right.

The happiness of each boy and girl is important; we want them to look back on their years with us with fondness.
