The Guardian Angel of good weather was definitely on our side on Wednesday night, when we were fortunate to have a break in the clouds and were able to go ahead with our annual Bonfire Party, and my goodness, what a night!! The numbers attending were certainly the highest in a long time.
The pumpkin competition was hotly contested, with some excellent entries in all categories. The wall was completely filled, and the display of lit pumpkins was spectacular.

Father Martin had a particularly difficult job in selecting the winners, as all the pumpkins were fantastic, so well done to Tamsin and Megan Hollyman, Eve Sheasby, Jordan Ramsay and Leonah Duffy who take the prizes for Foundation, Forms I & III, Forms III – VI and Family respectively. Thank you to all those who took part.
The GA excelled themselves this year, with an abundance of delicious food on offer – from chilli, curry, hot dogs and pasta to candy floss, toffee apples and some amazing hallowe’en cup cakes, and not forgetting the gluwein and the pig roast. Everyone was spoilt for choice as to what to choose to eat, and quite a lot of people opted to sample a bit of everything!

The atmosphere was really special, and the odd little shower of rain did nothing to dampen it. Parents enjoyed having the chance to unwind and socialize, and the children indulged in the usual game of "who can throw the light stick the highest?"
After a short delay to allow everyone to arrive (apologies to those of you who were unable to park close by), Vulcan did us proud once again, with a tremendous display of amazing fireworks. After which, Father Martin had the honour of lighting the Bonfire.
Once again, a superb night for us all to enjoy, and reflect on how lucky we are to have so many parents who want to get involved to bring these events to you. So thank you once again GA and volunteers!
