Form II E Assembley - Florence Nightingale

Form IIE has really enjoyed learning all about Florence Nightingale in their history lessons. On Wednesday 12th November they shared this knowledge and enthusiasm with both their parents and the rest of the school when they performed their assembly. Dressed in period costume, they brought to life the story of Florence Nightingale through their animated acting and singing.

Zara, as Florence, demonstrated the determination that this young woman had not to follow her parents’ wishes and simply become a wife and homemaker. Form IIE showed also how Florence fought against the expectations of her time and the disapproval of others to become one of the world’s most famous heroines. The children ended their assembly with the message that if you give away your love, amazing things can happen.
