Form VI And The Railway Walk
We were lucky with the weather for our LONG walk and picnic with Mrs Morgan-Pasquali and Mrs Reynolds. After a picnic at Corbiere lighthouse, overlooking azure-blue sea, we set off marching down the railway walk chanting and singing light-hearted made-up songs. We were energetic at this point, not realising that we had another 6 miles to go!
After we reached Les Quennevais Sports Centre we branched off to the sand dunes, climbing to the top of the Sugar Bowl. We either ran down or somersaulted enthusiastically. We arrived at Le Braye hot and thirsty. Only the promise of an ice-cream at Corbiere kept us all going. We walked, following the road round to Petit Port. The beach looked very inviting and the sea was cool so there was some reluctance to keep trudging on.
Time was pressing as we had to be back at school for 4.00 p.m. We sped up and really, really enjoyed our ice creams before returning to school in the minibus. It was a fun afternoon.
