Marlow Mini Rugby Tournament 2008
Marlow Rugby Football Club hosted its 36th annual Minis’ Tournament at their Riverwoods grounds on Sunday 30 March. A number of our pupils, girls and boys, took part in the tournament representing Jersey as part of the Jersey Rugby Academy.
Three very lucky girls from Year 3, who were participating in the Under 8’s competition, met a very special person! Mr Phil Vickery, Captain of the England Team was attending the tournament in an official capacity. During his time there he made himself available to sign autographs. He gave a special mention to our request for he was most appreciative of the children’s politeness in approaching him for the photograph.
The Jersey U9 team did well to make the final but faltered at the last hurdle. However, the U11 team managed to win their age group, helped by our own Patrick McKimmon.
