New Head appointed
Mr Timothy succeeds Mr Colin Moore who has decided that after nearly thirteen years as Head of St George’s the time has come for him to seek a change in lifestyle. Given the Board’s decision to appoint Mr Timothy as his successor in September, Mr Moore has asked the Board to consider releasing him before the end of the academic year to allow him to seek respite from chronic back pain.
In recognition of his outstanding service to St George’s and in the security of Mr Timothy’s appointment, the Board has reluctantly agreed to accede to Mr Moore’s request. Chairman of the Board Mr Graham Ireson said “We are obviously sad to lose Colin Moore but we wish him well for the future and acknowledge with thanks the many successes the School has enjoyed under his Headship. We have plans to celebrate all he achieved during his time with us with staff, parents and pupils. Cormac’s time as Deputy Headmaster at St George’s has demonstrated to the Board his knowledge, enthusiasm and ability, and to be able to appoint him as Head is satisfying and will ensure those qualities are available to us as we move forward and implement the exciting plans we have. I am sure everyone connected with St George’s will welcome this appointment and congratulate Mr Timothy”.
Mr Timothy himself confirmed “I am excited and grateful to be given this opportunity to lead St George’s, which is such a unique school, and look forward to taking up my new role.”
