Foundation Nativity - Busy Busy Bethlehem

On Tuesday 6th and Thursday 7th of December, the children from Nursery and Reception warmed the hearts of all who came to see their performance of 'Busy, Busy Bethlehem', our Foundation Christmas Nativity play.

The story was centred around the census in the busy town of Bethlehem. The main role of 'The Little Soldier' was played very skilfully by Alexander Le Cornu, and was assisted by his Roman Soldiers. The Little Soldier loved to organise everybody and he organised all of the people in Bethlehem into queues so that that they could be counted for the census. He was quite annoyed when Mary and Joseph arrived late, but he was quite intrigued by them, so he decided to follow them on the rest of their journey. The more time he spent following them, the more he realised that organising people was not so important after all. The story ended in a stable in Bethlehem with the birth of the baby Jesus, surrounded by the shepherds, wise men, angels, stars and all of the villagers from Bethlehem.

All of the children who spoke in the play delivered their words so clearly and confidently. The children sang their hearts out to the wonderful songs that accompanied the play and the colourful costumes sparkled.  However, the most contagious aspect of all was the smiles that radiated from the children on stage and the clear enjoyment that they gained from performing their Nativity play.
